Happy 5th of July! :P

Hmm, I haven' updated recently, I suppose I should give you (you being...myself) a status report. o.O

We moved last Sunday, to a nice little townhouse. I a cool 2-door room, unfortunately it has become the office, so my sister pretty much lives in here too. Meaning I don't get the little privacy I would probably want (i.e. if I'm on the phone or need to change after a shower) but then again, it IS my room, so I can now stare at her computer screen and watch what she's doing if I ever have the urge too. ^_^ I rather have her use the laptop though. :P

Not many updates on Saptiva (the lady with the gun drawing), except maybe some bad shading on the pants. I have no idea where the creases and such should go...I'm really bad at this. ;)

And something amazing probably happened in the past weeks...but I forgot.

The scene will most likely be a very cloudy, field of grass or wheat, looks like it's going to rain. Probably some drops falling already. Clothing color is something I'm pondering on, white shirt and black skirt were what I first thought, but we'll see what happens...

Me

I'm putting the blue girl on hold until I can:

1. Figure out a new position of the rest of her body (as I just drew the head, and the body sketch sucks)

2. Figure out how to proportionally draw her hands

3. Not mess it up

So, I decided to do a quicker work of anime, this time more "chibi" like, but not completely. This time, it's a guy...in fact, it's me! :D

Blue

Once again I am drawing up another anime girl, this time, as "animeish" as I can. :P Uhm...yea. Also, no tracing from video game sprites. ;) Here's what I've got so far...





There you can see the 2 differences between me drawing the lines by hand in Photoshop (first image) and then me doing that same line with the pen tool and the "simulated pressure" option (second image). Obviously, doing it by hand is crap, which is why I prefer drawing stuff in Flash (as Flash will auto-smooth what I draw for me, unlike Photoshop).

Internet constantly dropping...yet school is over and I'm off of work. I guess it's all balancing out. :P

Drowning

I dropped my cellphone in the toilet yesterday. It was an accident, my sweater's pockets are pretty much horizontal and it just fell...-.-

1 more week of school. Actually, I plan on finishing by Friday. :P

Queen

I guess you can't really call her "King of Fighters" but whatever! It's the name of the game :P Here's a wallpaper I made myself of a completed (for the most part I suppose) Vanessa. Image quality is probably a lot crappier once I upload it here...

Vanessa

All right, new Photoshop progress. Her name is Vanessa, she is one of the characters from King of Fighters (2002).


Now this IS a trace. As much as I hate to admit it, for the first time in a long time, I traced the character, although, you gotta see it wasn't a line for line type of deal.



As you can see, I didn't have a WHOLE lot to work with. A very pixellated picture is the only reference I have in terms of color and for a vague outline. The gray outlined human shape though was made by me, to try and get the proportions right. I can pretty much draw it on paper now, although usually I'll get something wrong (legs too short, torso too thin). So its not a compelete trace, but its enough to have my sister rag on me. :P Either way, this wasn't really about drawing an actual person (like you might consider my other military chick to be) but more on the coloring. I'm trying to get the shading on the skin, hair, and clothing, as good as possible. With some help from some Deviantart tutorials I found, hopefully I can become a little better at it ;)

Completed

Well, I finished the military chick, generally speaking. I might tweak some more shading, and add it to a wallpaper or something of the sorts, but I'm pretty much done. :)

Vectorized

There you go. Finally finished (or pretty much finished, might smooth out certain parts, etc.) the outline. Redone completely with the pen tool, for the vector smoothness...now for more shading!

Sokoban

Yea, so no drawing updates. I redid the shading, this time with layers and stuff, I think it looks good. Outlining is a pain and I don't know what to do. Vector is hard to do in Photoshop, and the outline is just not coming out right...

Anyway, my main thing is I've been working on a version of Sokoban in Game Maker. If you wanna try it, you can get it from here. So far I got all movement working, level loading, and there's manual saving and loading, which I will try to automate a bit in the future. Maybe all add scoring letr on :P

Soldieress

Well, here's my Photoshop project for the next...whatever amount of time it takes me. :P A sketch of an anime-ish military lady, wielding guns! Great...here's what I've outlined so far...







As you may see, I started from head, and then went to legs, and avoided the...lady zone. :P Tomorrow I will have to or else I will never finished. I'd just feel weird drawing in that zone, undoing and redoing it because the stupid curves in Photoshop come out like crap...I may use the polygon tool for that...we'll see -.-

Agog

Well, I took that darn test known as the SAT on April Fool's Day. Not as bad as I thought it would be, but definitely something I don't want to waste my morning doing again :P So we'll see what happens when the scores arrive on the 17th, and whether I'll register for the June test or not...

Ok, so...how's your life? Good? That's good...wait, you said not not that good? Interesting...how are your parents? Don't know, don't care? Whaaa..
I've noticed a very interesting pattern in the teenage life. One occuring all over America is a little somethin' known as "rebellion". Teenagers here somehow seem to come up with the idiotic idea that they know everything or that getting out of the house as soon as possible will make life wonderful. Why? It appears to me, and is quite evident, that teenagers seem to have problems with the people God placed in their life to be in authority...their parents.

I mean think about it, a BUNCH of teenagers I know wanna move out of their house ASAP, in fact, you're probably one of them. :P Why do you want to do this? This especially happens here in America because out in the spanish countries, you see kids growing up into their 20s+ with their parents.
Now look at their life. I don't know if you've ever seen a crazy spanish mom but they can be quite the scary ladies! I remember a teaching I heard by a Spanish pastor by the surname of Cash. This guy was telling a story about his mom and him's antics. It was very funny, and his mom was quite strict with him and stuff, throwing sandals at him and all. But the guy had a lot of respect for his mom, even in a bunch of her unfairness. In fact, he bought her a rollex watch (working in a spanish country, that's like...a LOT of MONTHS worth of pay) and God blessed him with that. Now I know there are some parents out there who are just plain nuts. And you're probably nodding your head and going "yup, that's me!" but no. You're probably just deceiving yourself into thinking that. Time for a Bible verse.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. " -Ephesians 6:1-3

Notice the parts I put in bold. "Obey your parents" it says. It doesn't say "obey your parents when you know their right" or "obey your parents when you feel like it". It's plain and simple. OBEY THEM! Why?

Easy answer. Did you know obeying your parents is the FIRST commandment with a promise? Yea, what promise is that?

"That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. "
Very interesting. Your life, will actually be longer. Now you know why you should. Why don't you?

Well, speaking as a Christian teenager I can tell you with pure honesty that sometimes, I don't like what my parents ask of me. "Take out the garbage everyday" or just about any request dealing with the backyard will get me in bad mood. Now, what do I with this bad mood. Well, I'll tell ya what you should do. Eat it! Just DO whatever your parents ask will ya? Do you know how much trouble you'll save? If you contradict them in some glorious effort to try and revolutionize the teenage right of whatever you're just gonna screw yourself over. I mean seriously, you know that they're right, I know I'm suppose to take the garbage out, and sometimes you don't. We're still human, we will disobey at times. But do not make it some sort of freaking lifestyle where whatever your parents ask of you is shotdown before they can even get the words out of there mouth.

What's my experience like? I can tell you right now, my life is cool. No really, it is. I actually have a good relationship with my parents. I can talk to either one of em on just about everything, I never have any major issues with them, I never get grounded. Why? Well...I do my best to obey them. OMG WOW...like it's so hard. I'm not a perfect child, but I have respect for my parents. I will never yell at them, call the names (in front of or behind their backs), and will do my best to obey them. Another verse:

"Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord."
-Colossians 3:20

Looks very similar to the verse above right? Except a little different.
"...obey your parents in all things..." is a key phrase here. Now, don't go taking this out of context and say that if you're parents told you to kill someone that you have to obey them. Remember, God's laws are first, THEN your parents. The other key phrase is "...this is well pleasing unto the Lord." Hear that? If you don't want to obey your parents for your parents' sake, obey them, because you MAKE GOD HAPPY. What's better than to please your wonderful Creator? Also, realize this:

"Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." -Romans 1:29-32

When I read that I was like wow...I mean look, someone who is wicked, has commited fornication, whose proud (one of the abominations, is ACTUALLY compared to someone who DISBOEYS THEIR PARENTS. It's not just some little sin guys, it's a seriously wrong thing to do, and you deserve DEATH if you do. Pretty rough huh?

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy," -2 Timothy 3:1-2

Guys, you know we're in the last days. You want to be the teenagers who deserve death? Be an example for God will ya? Obey your parents, be nice to them, do whatever it takes, just do it for God. I hope ya'll learned something, or that this will convict you in someway and that you fix whatever may be wrong with your relationships with mama and papa. I gurantee your life will be easier if you just respect them.

Nano

Just updating my Flickr page a bit...
I'm sooo close to buying myself a 2GB Ipod Nano. I don't know what I'm waiting for...maybe one of those tech events where Apple will release a new Ipod or something, cuz I'd hate buying one now and then next week finding I coulda gotten some 4GB wireless nano for the same price -.-

Server

WOOO! I'm so happy! Saturday, I was working on my server all night, trying to finally get it to run as a Soldat server. Well, after running some memory tests, swapping hard drives, and constant pondering, my dad threw out the idea that perhaps it was the network card. Lo and behold, when I configured a new NIC from my sister's older computer into the server, Soldat works. It was so annoying knowing that I had a server, which I leave on 24/7, available to use as a server, but not working with the game that I wanted it to host from the beginning. And now...it works. Awesome...



Anyway, if you get Soldat (and you should cuz its awesome) you can click the new button I made on the right side. It'll automatically connect you to my server :) BTW, the password is: tuna

IE7

Well...if you guys haven't heard, there's a new version of Windows coming out soon. It's called Windows Vista. Something new in Windows Vista is the upgraded version of Internet Explorer. It is now at version 7 (everyone who uses Windows XP is at 6, and unless you've upgraded Win98 users are at 5). Anyway, IE7 has a lot of new features and updates, thanks to a little competition known as Firefox.



UI: They've simplified the user-interface quite a bit. You can see tehre are only 2 buttons on top, back and forward. Then come the obvious Firefox resemblances. First off, they added tabs, FINALLY IE users will be able to discover the power of tabs. Most shortcuts work (Ctrl-T for new tab, Ctrl-W to close) but there are some nice features that the Tab Mix Plus extension adds in Firefox that you just can't live without. Now understand, that as I compare Firefox with IE7 I will be including my installed Firefox extensions into the mix. Why? "That's not fair" you say. Well...shutup :P A good Firefox user should know that one of the key advantages TO Firefox is the fact that there are hundreds of extensions out there to use and make your web-browsing experience better. Now I've noticed that IE7 has some "add-ons". Whether or not this is the equivalent to extensions is unknown to me, but if it is, good for IE users.



Another thing IE7 has done is standardize more things. FINALLY 24-bit PNGs with alpha channels are displayed properly. There is supposedly better support for some web standards, however, as you can see above, they got a long way to go. The page is suppose to look like this. You cann see that Firefox does a lot better, but still isn't quite there. I believe there are only 2 browsers that can properly display that page. Apple's Safari browser, and KDE's Konqueror. There is also a little feature for RSS feeds. I really liked the way the feeds were displayed. I don't believe Firefox has that good of an implementation with them, as in Firefox all it really does is update a folder in your favorites. However, I personally don't care about either browser's RSS capabilities, because I think it's pointless. RSS feeds are like a virtual newspaper. They send headlines of various articles, and then you choose which ones you want to read. Now, for instance, I have a feed for OSnews.com. I normally don't visit that site on my browser, but I read its feeds everyday. However, I use em in Thunderbird which also has RSS capabilities. The thing I love about Thudnerbird is that you get each feed like an e-mail. You read the title (or subject), click on it and it comes up on a pane below. If I want to read more, I open the article in MY BROWSER. Now, what's the point of reading a feed in your browser, when you can just VISIT THE FRICKIN SITE?



Anyway, I appluade IE7 on its features, I gave the pop-up blocker (which was implemented in earlier IE6) on a test run to see how it compared to Firefox's.



As you can see, IE7 did BETTER than Firefox, scoring 20/100 points higher. Now that's great as pop-ups (as we all know) are very annoying. BUT there's a little problem. Popups are NOT the only annoying thing on webpages. As you can clearly see above, there was this large Yahoo text ad smack in the middle off the results. That is, there was one in IE7. You see, many Firefox users use a little tool called Adblock.
Adblock is an AMAZING extension for Firefox that blocks a messload of ads and banners on many sites. If it doesn't block one by its deafult filter options (which are very powerful) you can always right click any image and add it to the list! Even Flash animations will have a small tab on the corner incase you want to block em. And if an image is blocked on accident, you can whitelist it/or the site it's on so that you can see it! :D Hopefully someone will port an Adblock-like add-on for IE, as it makes browsing mroe enjoyable when you don't have nagging flashing banners all over a site.

All in all, IE7 is pretty good. From IE6 it's a BIG step forward in the right direction. However, for users who have used Firefox properly it's still no match. To Firefox there is nothing new or extravagantly special about IE7. Even then, I'm glad IE7 will come out, and hopefully more people will use it then the older crap version they are currently using.

Anniversary

It's my parent's 21st Anniversary today! :D SO in honor of that, here's their story...

Once upon a time my mom was born, she has 4 brothers and 3 sisters. In elementary one of these sister's had a friend. She just so happened to be my dad's sister. Eventually, through that, my dad became friends with my mom's brothers. So sometime around the ages of 9 my parents first met. Now they were just aquaintances ya know? My dad was my mom's brother's friend. (I hope ya can keep up with the possessive relationship chains ^_^). Anyway, they were just regular friends who grew up together. I think around their late teens they eventually lost contact with my dad. You see, his family (mom and 3 sisters) were going to the United States. They were getting their Visas and junk all ready. Now my dad had actually gotten ENGAGED to a girlfriend of his. In fact, the reason they lost contact was because he was moving back to Bogota (mom was currently living in Baranquilla. Bogoto is smack in the middle of Colombia, Baranquilla on coast, many hours inbetween) to get married. My mom even helped him pick out rings to use for when they did. Anyway, he moved back to Bogota as his family left to the US. My mom's dad died, and so her family started moving to the US too. My mom went to Chicago while some other siblings went to Florida. Well, a month later, turns out that my dad's relationship didn't work, and the marriage was off. Now he had nothing to do in Colombia, so he moved to Florida where his family was at. Turns out, the day he gets there, my dad's sister, and my mom's sister, the first to know each other, FOUND one another in Florida. They didn't know that both just so happened to have moved to Florida. Mom's sister calls her, and mom finds out. She moves down to Florida from Chicago (where she almost gets married) in the Winter with her brother who is also moving there, so they can all get together. Mom and Dad finally are reunited, start going out, and get married some months later, this day. ^_^

Now this story belongs to my family, if you're some author/director punk who wants to steal it, I'll sue you if you make money off this w/o giving us some!

Colombia

Ok, I gotta get this over with or you'll never find out what happened!

So here's a map of where we went...


As you can see there, we were on the coast the whole trip. Our stops were Cartagena and Baranquilla.



Day 1: Was poop. We landed...and so we make our way through the customs or whatever at the airport. The dude who attends us asks my parents for their passports, so they give it to him. But then he asks if they have Colombian ones. Now, this guy has no reason to ask this, as a passport is a passport. Either way my parents gave him their old Colombian passport so we go through. Unfortunately for one of my aunts who also came, she got a 10 day limit, just cuz this guy seems to be rascist again American passports. :P So she's all mad and has already set the mood for the day. We go to a hotel only to find out that the room we PREPAID AND RESERVED for 2 days was taken. The hotel was actually an apartment, as they seem to rent those more. Anyway, after looking at 5 other rooms we finally decide on one, just because it was already evening and we needed a place to stay. But the place was nasty...we used our towels as bed sheets cuz the ones provided were so...iffy...




Day 2: More apartment hunting! We eventually find a good one, so we stay there. The view from the apartments are awesome cause the beach is right there. So in that second hotel, you can get on the porch and see the whole ocean, good for sunsets! We also travelled through the city by horse carriage through the night...

Day 3: We take the 2 hour drive to Baranquilla.




We stayed at an apartment that was WAY better than anything in Cartagena. You could definitely live in there...



And we checked out the mall over there...



Day 4: Zoo time!





There were some huge iguanas just battling it out on the sidewalk there too!


Anyway, after the zoo, we went over some blocks to my dad's old house, when he used to live there. And we visit this lady who lived across the street to see how they were doing and stuff. A lot of historical information about my dad's childhood and stuff was discussed. They were also just dumb-founded by my parents' marriage story, which I will post about some other time ;)

Day 5: Apparently nothing special (according to Picasa, only 3 photos for that day). Pretty much and old schoolmate of my mom and her family hung out with us in the evening. We went bowling. It was funny cuz we actually had to keep our own score on paper, no computers! ^_^

Day 6: Again, just some more travelling around, looking at possible houses or apartments we might wanna buy if we ever move there. We went to my mom's old dentist's house, and she cooked us some Coconut Rice and some special meat (don't know the english name) and there was a bowl of a yummy fruit salad too.

Day 7: Again just hanging out with my mom's old schoolmate. Her son Miguel, my sister, and I went to watch "Cheaper by The Dozen 2"...in spanish :P Later I was able to play BF2 again at this cool little gaming center. About 10 computers in that place, everyone playing games and stuff, we had a nice LAN game too. Then we went to eat pizza...and I kid you not, this thing was the biggest pizza I've ever seend, the whole pan had atleast a 3 foot diameter!



Day 8: Carnaval, but for the kids...and umm...Blogger just stopped working for images, so I'll post those later :P

Day 9: We take a 2 hour boat ride to an island, to check out their "Seaquarium" which is has about as much fish as a large fish shop :P They do have some cool tanks and stuff of course, sea turtles, nurse sharks, but not something super amazing...definitely not like Miami Seaquarium ;) Again pictures later...

Day 10: Time to come home!

And tehre ya have it...nothing special is exactly what I didn't like. It just took a week away of Casbar knifings...

Minds

You know what I realized as I poured by Rice Krispies today? You know when people say that they can tell you what you're thinking and then they really can't...you know they can? :D Like let's say, I came up to you and said "You're thinking about coconuts aren't you?" you'd probably say no and give me an o_O look. But as I finished the sentence you're brain was processing some information about coconuts. Now looking at the first definition of "think" at dictionary.com think is "To have or formulate in the mind." You had/have the thought about coconuts simply be my mentioning of it because you're brain is translating the received sound waves of my voice into a comprehensible language. Sooo...you technically were thinking of coconuts, from the second I said it, and by the time I finished my sentence it was in your mind. So I win...

Relationships

Ok, I said I was going to write and here it is!

What is apparently on every teenagers mind these days? How 'bout someone of the opposite gender. I see a bunch of people, including many of my friends from youth group, getting into relationships with people and wonder to my self "What the crap?". When they showed those videos on relationships and taught a whole bunch of stuff on abstinence at youth group I was thinking the same thing as everyone, "UUGGHHHH! BORING!". But it seems, that they actually did/still need to hear this. Why? There are still people getting into messes, with the starting point being the acquirement of a boy/girlfriend.

Now let's get this straight. I love girls, they are awesome, God made em, and it's natural for a guy to like em, and vice-versa. I am not against "liking" someone, or even relationships! But there's a difference between my point of view, and everyone else's it seems.

I don't think anyone under the age of 18 should have a "b/gfriend". "ZOMG" you say, why? It's probably that age you only start to actually think about who you're going to marry. Now, having a friend that you like is fine. Even if they like you back! But getting into an actual "relationship" is an incredibly dumb thing for anyone under that age to do (and even some at that age aren't ready. The thing with the age is MAINLY about maturity, which most teenagers don't have much of). I mean seriously people, I've seen it so many times and yet people continue doing it. A girl meets a guy, one or the other thinks that they OR the other "love" each other and this will last forever and then some months later it's over. It's over and one or the other (whichever has done it more gets less affected) gets their heart broken. And then what? They start the cycle AGAIN. It makes me so furious to see these people take such dumb decisions...and I'm sorry but it's true. Here's what I'm thinking.

When I like a girl, first off she will be a CHRISTIAN. All these people in youth group, who've had relationships, first off are either NOT Christians (I plan on making a teaching on this soon) or are going out with a non-christian. Anyway, I will obviously be the girl's friend, none of this love-at-first-sight crap cuz I saw someone at the mall with a Nintendo Controller belt and I know "she's the one". We will be friends, and me liking her I would like to be come a close friend (like inner circle type of friend all right?). The relationship still has some distance or separation. By the time I have a job, and am able to drive (which will be by the time I'm 18 as its going :P) THEN I'll consider something more. All your teenage years should be occupied with God, in fact, even afterwards and always should they be. My main reason for the age requirement is that I don't think you should get into a relationship unless it won't affect your relationship with God. Its all about maturity and maturity is lacking in a VERY BIG majority of teenagers nowadays. Think about it, if the person you're in a relationship with is NOT mature enough, someone becomes the other's idol. They put you before God in their life. And that sucks. You wanna be responsible for taking a guys'/girls' eyes off of God? I wouldn't. So I would willingly wait for the girl I like, and hope that she can wait for me to.

In conclusion (as I wrote this last night and probably forgot a whole bunch of stuff I wanted to write), here's a summary. Dating, a b/gfriend type relationship, is pointless unless you plan on (or considering) marrying the person (which is, as I said, probably isn't even seriously considered before the minimal age of 18). There is nothing wrong with liking someone and even being their best friend, but passing that point before you're ready isn't wise. What exactly are you looking for in a boy/girlfriend anyway? (please if you read this, post an actual comment answering this question) You can even go out on "dates" with your likened friend, but in groups (with OTHER people, prefferably more Christians as there will be less temptation this way). Alone time on a date will just lead you into wrong places/put you in tempting situations. Once you're older, you court them (now both of you know you like each other enough for marriage, so here would be the alone dating/getting to know em a lot better time), and then you get married. And hopefully like me, as corny as it sounds, I will also be able to give my virginity, to my spouse, as a gift because I waited for her. Got that?

This probably makes no sense to someone who isn't Christian (maybe to some it does), but someone who is surely must see my logic behind this. I'll probably post a lot more of the things in my mind later...

BTW I post this, knowing I gotta get closer to God, being in the same boat as a lot of you, and getting older as well. Heck, I'll be 18 the end of the month with a license and job, and I plan on getting married by the time I'm 22 (4 years) so it ain't too far off for me. Yet I'm doing my best to keep my focus on God, and I hope I can help others do the same.

So yea, you know Myspace sucks? :D Call me ol' fashion but I prefer fast, multiple services over this one jumbled mess that is down for maintenance once a week. Blogger's easy, IMing is cool, the only thing Myspace is good for is for pictures, even then I'm sure there's something better for that. Like Flickr which apparently has some abilities to get into some blogs, including ones by Blogger. But you know, whatever...
In other news, I have enough money for that HTPC, or more like...LVPCTDCS (Living room PC that does cool stuff) because we don't have a home theatre. :D

We got some new old machines from my dad's work. 3 in fact! One had a bad harddrive, one of the two monitors is pretty much screwed, and one of the keyboards uses something older than a PS2 plug. And we don't have an adapter. THat left us with 2 comps, one which has gone to Giselle's room and become her little Edubuntu (Educatonal version of Ubuntu) machine. BTW they all had Windows, and I reformatted all the drives for Linux. ^_^ Anyway, one of the other ones is an old compaq, at 350Mhz, which I stuck in as much RAM as possible from the sticks I grabbed from the other 2. This one has a server install of Ubuntu as that's what it will be...my server. Even though Soldat is acting funky on it, it can also become my FTP server (once I set that up -.-). And the other is yet to be used. I grabbed an 80GB for my server from an old (but newer) machine my aunt gave me. That machine has a bad mobo cuz it won't boot (no video signal, its onboard) so it's here. Fatty's machine has some 4GB SCSI HDD so that's fine. My server used to have a 4GB or 10GB drive, the 4GB doesn't work, I don't know why there's a 10 lying around. Either way, it was fun messin with all of this, and I'm learning a lot of Linux command-line stuff as my server has no graphical interface (GASP!). And I LIKE IT THAT WAY!

Money!

Man, I have around $800 to spend on stuff...and I don't know on what! I wanted a new MP3 Player, preferrable one that plays video. So I was looking at the Zen Vision. Then I noticed that the new Ipod is cheaper (wth is Creative thinking) and with there being Linux for Ipod that looked very attractive. But I hate Apple, and don't want to buy an Ipod. And I also wanted something that would play games. I thought about a Nintendo DS (which also has Linux on it) especially since they got cheap (to $120, against a $250 PSP) but I played the one my cousin has and its not something super special. Plus, I'd have to buy a couple games, buying 3 would cost me around $100. Then I saw the GPX2 and thought it was perfect. Plays videos, music, and has a bunch of emulators (SNES, MAME, OMG!) but realized that the product ain't all that great at the moment, with buggy firmware affecting battery life, media playback and such...but for $200 this thing seemed sweet. I'll probably wait for a firmware to have it in a usable state for me. The only thing this doesn't have is good storage. I gotta buy an SD card (prefferably a 2GB, which would cost some $140ish) since there's no hard drive in it. So I'm very confused...why can't they just make something good...:P

Ow! You know, I hate these behind the ear headphone things, they're good in the way they don't pull my hair like other headphones, but they suck cuz they rest on the top of my ear and start cuasing me pain. :P

Anyway, I've been doing so many signatures or people in the tourney...it's crazy! I've been offered free webhosting, $15, and have gotten Soldat registered! :D

I've also been messing in Python lately, working on a dominoes game. So far its plan Python, everything being text based, but I'm sure I can get an actual interface once I'm done figuring out the basics on this stuff :)

I write this as I rip my hairs out, trying to get my Christmas animation, which is due Friday, ready by getting the music to work properly across the scenes. It has to change volume in one, come back to normal in another, without affecting other sounds in the same scene. What a pain. -.-

Hey guess what? I don't have work for the next week and a half. Atleast. Meaning I have one full week of Winter break awesomeness!

Anyway, uh...I caught a stomach bug yesterday. Barfed for the first time in some 8+ years. I forgot how crappy you feel while you do that.

Today I am much better, but my nose is all stuffed up and I feel a little light-headed or something, probably from al lthe mucus en mi cabeza!

I gotta start working more on that Christmas animation I have planned for my comic...I'm only about 1/4 done with it, and I need it by the 23rd. I'll probably get all of it done during that first days of the awesome school+workless week.

Well, I can say I'm excited this week. First off, I will be doign school all week with the great anticipation for Winter Break to start next week. I can't wait...

Second, I'll be very happy to talk to Nipz again. Nipz is another British dude who had gone off to college in the past months, and who had to leave the tournament because of bandwidth issues over there. Luckily, he gets a winter break too, so I'll be able to talk to him on Friday. Plus he claims to be able to move somewhere with proper broadband in some months or less, so that's good news too.

And lastly, Mike's b-day was a blast. I bowled a 205 (best ever), wore pink, saw Michael drowning (or imagining it? I dont remember :D), and saw how bad Paula would enterring a gating community (lol). What a day...whoever wasn't there is hereby grounded.

No, a Best Buy commercial was just on. Anyway, what do I gotta say, um, I had so much in my mind yesterday, unfortunately when I sleep almost all that stuff gets cleared. We're almost to the end of our first official BF2 campaign. Sign ups will be sometime next year in January I guess, if ya wanna join. ;) Uhm...I have...forgotten everything...I was gonna write. Well that sucks, I guess I'll just explain that alien thing.

Ok, this is just incase some other people read this: I am a Christian, I believe in God, I believe he created this whole world and universe, and so I also believe in the angels he created. I also believe he had to cast a third of em, and they, as you know em, are the devil and his demons.

Anyway, I don't know if you guys have ever read a part where it says that fallen angels actually mixed with the seed of a woman or something. That's how the "giants" in the Promise Land supposedly came about. They were...strange human beings. Anyway, it's no surprise that nowadays, with all these technologies, some scientists may have messed with a lot of genetics and animals and humans and...just...some really crapped up stuff. So, this is what I think any future aliens will be. I think that very soon, the government may say SOMETHING about aliens and that they may exist or some crap like that. Please don't believe that. You know how you here "Intelligent Design" from some people in government, I think they're referring to these supposed "aliens". Why do all this? This is probably the way they will begin to introduce the anti-christ. Somehow, aliens are gonna be part of his...rule? Of him being here, he's gonna use them somehow. A small proof, and one you may not want to believe comes straight from the TV. Have you noticed that flux of new alien series? That, "Invasion" and that other one on CBS. In fact, they showed "Mars Attack" over the weekend, and I was like "omg, that's so old". I think the media is just trying to start desensitizing people for this. It would make sense to do it right? Anyway, I don't care if you think I'm crazy, this will probably happen within some months or less, if it does, please remember this, if it doesn't...well, it will eventually. Just don't forget what I've posted...

I plan on updating more around here after a large inactivity. Why? I don't know...BECAUSE I FEEL like it...

In summary of what's happened in the past months:

I got my job back (God even TOLD me he would, sweet ey?)
I am still hungry, eating rice all the time, and the same weight/height
Comics are going fine, opened shop and have mad like...$23 total since it opened in...August or September, can't remember (EY A RHYME!)
I wasted $25 on BF2: Special Forces (gosh Bubba is so wise :P)

Nothing much to say, school started, 1 more year and all of it's over (atleast, till college, but that's when I'll be in school learning something I want to learn :P) and...lunch time is coming, parents leaving to Colombia tomorrow, 10 days of survival-endurance beginss! :D

That's right, a certain little fatgirl has made it to first place among some 10+ guys in Soldat. Somehow Giselle is Soldat gifted and its funny hearing a bunch of my tourney friends call her a hacker when she plays with them! :D Yea, I've actually been Soldat'n quite a bit. Its really cool when you got a full Soldat server thing going. Now with the third computer (the one I built) I can host a dedicated server there while my mom does some minimum browsing. Then, I don't know why, but I guess it has to do something with Linux, the port actually stays at the one its suppose to be (27073) :D Combine that with my DNS routing at no-ip.com, you can pretty much just click soldat://stealthbarp.no-ip.com:23073 and it should bring you to my server (whens its up of course :P). Its really fun when I get the toureny guys to play, and with 8 people, 2 of em being my sis and I on the LAN with 0 ping, its a blast. I especially love hearing Bleh whine when I throw a knife at him. *Aw...no way..." >:)

I knew it!

It was eventually gonna happen, just like every other blog/journal/diary thing I've tried. I get bored, or distracted and eventually stop. I don't really know why...I do like blogging, but apparently my life isn't exciting enough to write a blog on ^_^. I could write articles and stuff, venting out opinions on stuff, but I don't want to waste my time when no one reads my blog anyway :P I liked the way the blogging at JoeUser.com worked, if I wanted to express an opinion, it would be over there. The main site has a sidebar to the right showing the latest blog posts by everyone. I don't know how blogger chooses its latest blog but I know other people aren't gonna be finding my blog on there. Anyway, I'm usually playing Battlefield 2 and do that for the whole day. So as I said before, my life isn't exciing enough to blog about. And I'm not saying that's a bad thing either. I don't expect to go through dramatic things in my life and if I did, I'd probably talk to God about it and forget to mention it on here :P So yea...right now I'm watching "America's Funniest Hoem Videos" and listening to this guys remix of the "Moon Patrol" game's song. It sounds like he's doing it all with his mouth. You can find a bunch of cool classic game remixes at Ocremix.org.

However, what has happened recently worth mentioning could be:

I have joined the Pasadaran company for this beta campaign of BF2. They're are the spec-ops group of the division. I had to leave Bandar, formerly known as Al-nida, which sucked, cuz they're a lot of fun to be with. But hopefully Pasadaran will allow me to work up some more skills, or allow whatever skill I have to be put to use.

I have gone through...3 distributions of Linux on my laptop already. I had updated my laptop only to get its wireless connection messed up. So, I tried Suse 9.2, only to find it didn't want to start up the X display, which meant I had to do everything through a command prompt. Screw that and I downloaded, burned, and installed the 3 CD Mandrake 2005 LE. This is a nice looking distro, unfortunately it had trouble with my wireless adapter (Intel PRO/wireless 2200BG) and the support for the distro really only comes if you pay for it (it is a commercial distro) so I wasn't able to figure it out. Then I tried Debian, the small FTP install version, only to find that it wasn't detecting my CD drive. I could've installed it using an older 2.4 kernel, but I wanted the newer 2.6, and following a guide I found online didn't worked so I screwed that one too and reinstalled Kubuntu, which has been the only distro to detect everything fine. The only thing is that I have to update my wireless card's firmware and drivers, which is easy with this nice HowTo this guy on the Ubuntu forums made. Ubuntu has an amazing community with a bunch of info on everything you need, its nice to see such a new distro be supported so well, and all for free. Either way, I updated it again and I lost my eth1 (wireless card) network connection again -_-. This time however, I posted it on the forums and expect a solution. I'm eagerly awaiting the next release of Ubuntu, Breezy Badger, which has a goal to completely support Dell laptops (Toshiba, IBM, and HP too). I'll definitely be downloading that off BitTorrent as soon as it comes out in October.

I'm learning to program with a proffesional language ^_^ I have bought "Learning Python", a book published by the wonderful O'Reily people. I'm about half-way and have learned enough to make some simple programs. In fact, I'm gonna try to make my first one soon. It'll be a playlist converter, that takes the standard .m3u playlists files and turns them into the playlist format used by my Samsung MP3 player, because for some reason, it needs a special type that I can't find a program that does it for me.
